Mink pelts can be of female or male origin. The former are smaller in size and softer than the latter. Skandinavik Fur uses by default the softest female mink pelts for its creations unless stated otherwise .
The stitching techniques are skin to skin and fully let out . Skin to skin is pretty self explanatory . The fully let out technique involves cutting the pelt into thin stripes and stitching them back together. This allows for a unanimous , flowing look and a garment with more “motion” since the stiches work as multiple small joints.
Mink fur coats come in a variety of natural and dyed colors. The blackglama mink are naturally black. The blue iris and sapphire colors are the rarest and most valuable. Apart from color , the more dense the underfur the highest the quality of the pelt.
