Fur coats made of mink are the most popular in the world of fur fashion . And there are several reasons to justify this popularity.
A mink fur coat epitomizes what fur is all about . They look , feel and most important ARE classy , elegant and luxurious . Wearing one , makes its owner stand apart , turns heads and receives compliments. The rich under fur , the sheen of the guardhair , the draping and the unique look seperates a mink coat from other materials such as cotton , silk , velvet or other synthetic textiles.
Mink fur is not bulky . It allows for clean and crisp lines when it comes to design .It is discreet and balanced and compliments one’s wardrobe without being overwhelming . It is and should be the first choice for those who want to display a delicate and sophisticated taste for fashion . It is the most chic fur type period . Ideally worn in formal events , weddings , dinners , red carpet occasions and so on . A mink fur coat is a display of success and uniqueness, an image builder on its own .
Its texture is silky , comfortable to wear , breathable , relatively lightweight and extremely warm. In terms of durability it literally can last for years and in case you are bored with its design you can have it remodeled .
Mink pelts can be of female or male origin. The former are smaller in size and softer than the latter. Skandinavik Fur uses by default the softest female mink pelts for its creations unless stated otherwise .
The stitching techniques are skin to skin and fully let out . Skin to skin is pretty self explanatory . The fully let out technique involves cutting the pelt into thin stripes and stitching them back together. This allows for a unanimous , flowing look and a garment with more “motion” since the stiches work as multiple small joints.
Mink fur coats come in a variety of natural and dyed colors. The blackglama mink are naturally black. The blue iris and sapphire colors are the rarest and most valuable. Apart from color , the more dense the underfur the highest the quality of the pelt.
Apart from the fullskin mink fur coats there are the sectional ones . You can find more information on sectional mink fur coats in our blog
